About Our Doctors
Dr. Michelle L. Martinez
Dr. Martinez’s optometric career started in August 2002 working for Decatur Eye Center. Northeast Eye Center was founded in March of 2004 by Dr. Michelle L. Martinez. She leased space from Sears at Northeast Mall until she relocated her practice in October of 2015 to 900 W. Pipeline Rd in Hurst.
Dr. Martinez’s journey to becoming an eye doctor began after her first eye exam when she was 11 years. While her exam was not ideal, she did leave with better vision. From this experience she decided that everyone had the right to good vision and have a great experience during the exam. Dr. Martinez is a graduate of the University of Houston College of Optometry. She graduated with Honors in 2002. As an undergrad at Notre Dame she double majored in Pre-Medical and Sociology graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1995.
When not working, Dr. Martinez enjoys her family life. Her greatest joy is spending time with her twin daughters.
Dr. Martinez is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Texas Optometric Association, and a member of the Tarrant County Optometric Society.
Dr. Martinez is licensed by the Texas Board of Optometry as a Therapeutic Optometrist and Glaucoma Specialist. She co-manages with local ophthalmologists for Lasik, retinal and cataract consultations.
Dr. Melody Amador
Dr. Melody Amador was born and raised in San Antonio, TX and first moved to the DFW area for college. She attended the University of Dallas where she obtained her Bachelor's degree in Biology with a concentration in Physics. She then earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry, graduating Summa Cum Laude.
Dr. Amador completed her first clinical rotation at Mission Vision, a private practice in San Antonio, where she provided routine glasses and contact lens exams. Her second rotation was at Cedar Springs Eye Clinic, a community clinic assisting an under-served population located in downtown Dallas. While there, she furthered her experience
in ocular disease management.
In her free time she enjoys painting, playing pickleball, and spending time with family. Dr. Amador is excited to provide the high quality care that Northeast Eye Center is known for providing to the local community!
